The exhibition investigates creative approaches to knowledge transfer, collaborating with three photographers from the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen (Germany). Their task was to capture selected religious sites in Amsterdam, Berlin and London.

Photographs are constantly shifting between documentation and interpretation, i.e. they depict both an interpreted and a documented reality. The exhibition’s design reflects this insight into the multiple nature of photography by exploring aesthetic methodologies and constellations, e.g. migratory aesthetics.
Regular meetings with the photographers are successful in approaching “artistic research”: the interchange of aesthetic and scientific means. The same applies for the cooperations with FLMH Labor für Politik und Kommunikation (Berlin) and the artist Bärbel Rothhaar throughout the workshop in Berlin.
